An electric motor gently rocks the eggs 6 times a day 30 degrees in each. It includes two sets of racks 1) one set of six universal racks that will hold 41 eggs of any size (from quail to duck) 2) one set of six quail rails that will hold 120 small eggs. I've used it once, and it hasn't broken yet, but even though I handle it ver y carefully, I feel as though it's just a matter of time before this thing breaks. This turner is designed to fit into any Little Giant incubator and requires no assembly. I loaded it up with 28 duck eggs (it's supposed to handle 41) & it felt like it was going to break from the weight of the eggs. Apart from the motor, everything is built of a lightweight & brittle-feeling plastic. I chose this egg turner partly because I thought it was made in the USA (which I tend to equate with good quality items), but it turned out to be made in China like most of the others.
